An Efficient Legislator.

The Republican of March 13, 1903, had an article under the above heading, relating the re markable success achieved by Hon. Jesse E. Wilson, as joint repre sentative from Jasper and Lake counties, in the session of 1903. ♦ As we then said, he accomplished more in the way of secur ing the passage of needed legislation, than any other man either senator or representative from any county Jasper was connected with He introduced only meritorious bills and worked for them frdhi start to finish. He introduced 12 and 9of them became laws. We are satisfied that no other new member in either house made a better record. He also received good recogni tion on the committees, being a prominent and influential member of the very important committee on Education, and was chairman of the committee on Military Affairs. In short he was a truly efficient legislator, and all his work was clearly for the general good, end there was not one single vote, motion, nor act of his of any kind, that the people could not heartily commend. Personally, professionally and socially, he is a man of the highest attainments and of the most excellent character, and one of whom the people of all parties can well be proud, no matter what position they call upon him to fill. He is now a candidate, for the Republican nomination for state senator from Jasper, Newton and White counties. Jasper county Republicans should feel it a duty as well as an honor to stand solidly behind a man so well deserving of their support. 'Moreover we can assure all the Republicans in the other counties, that if Mr. Wilson is nominated they will never have cause to regret the fact, not in the least degree.
