The Circuit Court.

The first jury case of the term to goto trial was heard Thursday. And it involved three counties The plaintiff, I. W. Warren lives in Benton county, the defendant J. Fry, in Newton, and the property concerned is in Jasper It seems the plaintiff rented the defeudant some land, and sued for $320. The defendant claimed the land was good, neither for corn or pasture; and the jury awarded the plaintiff only S6O of his claim Another divorce was granted Tuursday afternoon. It was granted to Mrs. Sarah L. McCune, of about Kniman, from Robe it McCune. They were married Oct. 22nd, 1886, and he totally abandoned her Aug 19, 1903, and is now supposed to be in Illinois. According to the allegations of the complaint ahe had grounds enough for half a di zm divorces and then some to lend to her neighbors. Thus he was a habitual drunkard, and had been for ton years, and not only spent all he earned himself for liquor, but took the money she made at working and keeping boarders for the same purpose. He would also curse and swear at her and call her vile names, in the hearing of her children and strangers; and falsely accuse her moral character, knowing the accusations to be false. A total failure to provide for her support, was still another of the allegations against him. They have three children of whom she was granted the custody along with the divorce.
