Another Interurban Railroad.
Now Crosses Jasper County On Paper. The Ohioago and Northern Indi, ana Railroad Company, composed of Indianapolis and lowa capitalist which proposes to build an electric line from Indianapolis to Chicago to compete with the steam roads, has filed articles of incorporation at Indianapolis. The line is scheduled to pass through the counties of Lake, Porter, Jasper, Pulaski, White, Case, Howard, Clinton, Tipton, Hamilton and Marion. Lester Soule, president of the Globe Construction Company of Des Moines, is the largest stockholder.
It is said that work on the new road will begin without delay. It is also announced that a corps of civil engineers will start next week to survey the route. It is the intention to have the surveys made between Indianapoiis and Logansport so that the work of construction may be begun June 1. This division of the road will be finish ed first. Officers of the new company say that it is the intention to have cars running between Logansport and Indianapolis by January 1, the remaining part of the road running into Chicago to be built, as conditions warrant.
If the road is built about on the route described, that is if it passes through all the counties above named, it would naturally be expected to pass through Jasper county in a northwest and southeast course, cutting off a greater or less portion of the northeast corner of the county.
