Will Also Give a Surety Bond.
County Treasurer 8. R. Nichols will also solve bis difficulties about his official bond, by giving a surety company bond. The suit of the Harris bank people to get off bis bond, on account of the McCoy failure, and the contract with the First National bank people whereby Uncle Henry seems to be left to hold the sack, on the McCoy losses of county money, has already been related. Of course if the Harrises got off the bond the National Bank people would get offitoo and thus the treasurer would be obliged to furnish a new bond. With this prospect in view he has wisely decided to buy a surety company bond and thus be out of his trouble on that score. He is procuring a bond through the Aetna Indemnity Company, of Hartford. Conn. The application for the bond has been approved and the bond itself is expected to arrive by Saturday. It is in the sum of $160,000.
