City School Enumeration.

Mr j . Lemuel Huston has completed her task of taking the school enumeration of this city. She found only 670 children between the ages of 6 and 21 year’, as compared with 706 last year. The falling off is 36, but the enumerator does not think she let any get away that ought to have been counted. There are several raasjns for the decrease. Thus 58 have be come 2l years old, since last year, 94 have moved away, and five kids have got married. And not enough others have attained their 6ch birthday, or m >ved in to make up the loss. It also happened that of the families that moved out of town many had many children while those moved in mostly had but few children. But this sama falling off in school enumeration extends practically all other the county, and all show a decrease except Carpenter, Hanging Grove and Newton, in all of which there are small gains. All told there is a net loss in the county of 283 on this year’s enumeration, as compared with last years.
