An Old-Time Sweep

The Republicans Elect The Entire City Ticket By Big Majorities.

The result of Tuesday’s election here was a complete old time sweep for the Republicans, they having elected their entire city and all ward tickets, by big m-joritits. Two years ago the Republicans elected every candidate, also, but by much smaller maj »rilies, on the average. The scratching was not so much in evidence, this year, and no Democratic candidate came anywhere near carrying any ward, while two years ago, two on the Democratic city ticket each carried his home ward, while two or three of their oounoilmen candidates came near being elected. The highest combined vote oast this election was for Marshal being 530 votes. Last election the combined vote for that office was 545. Tae combined vote for Mayor, this time is 485; two years ago it was 512.
