Not Due to Weather Conditions
Dr. J. N. Harty, recently re-el-ected secretary of the state board of health tells us that the causes for pneumonia are not attributed to tae climatic conditions as is so often supposed to be. He bases this view of the matter on the statistical reports of the health department, for the last quarter and for the same period three years ago. At that time the weather was compartively mile', yet there were twenty-one more deaths than for the same quarter this year, which was unusualy boistrous and severe. Dr. Harty said further that in consideration of the fact that the too much careless treatment given in nursing measles, influenza. coughs and colds patients, there will be found the source of ( the numerous pneumonia cases, that result so fatally over the state.
