Presbyterian Preacher Paralyzes Crown Point.
Crown Point is said to be all stirred np over a sermon preached tbere Sunday by the Presbyterian minister. Rev. J. P. Hearst. It aeems that the Knight and Linton boys, under arrest for wholesale robberies, are sons of prominent members of bis oharoh, and it is said that the mother of one of the boys requested Mr. Hearst to preach a sermon in denunciation o law-breaking saloons, fashionable sooial gambling and other sins and shortcomings. He is said to have poured it in hot, and that the auditors needed no Worcester sauce or other relish for their Sonday dinners. He denounced fashionable card parties, where nice people play for prizes, as no better than any old gambling for profit: np-braided the town authorities for allowing saloons to be open on Sundays, and gambling holts to flourish in upper back rooms, and hit right and left generally. After the sermon, the minister and a party of leading oitizena made the rounds of the saloons looking for evidenoe of law violations, and are said to have found it in plenty. It was next to the last sermon Rev. Hearst will preach at Crown Point as he intends moving to Idaho in a short time.
