The Women’s Missionary Convention

The Women’s Baptist Home Missions convention, held at the Baptist church Thursday and Thursday evening, was well attended and very successful in all respects. Excellent papers were presented by Mrs. Dr. Stewart, of Monon; Mrs. H. F. McDonald, of Goodland and Mrs. J. H. Perkins, of Rensselaer. Mies Sprague, of Chicago, gave a fine address in the evening on the subject of Hume Missions. She representtd Miss Bardette, who was unable to come. She is state secretary of the Women’s Home Mission Society of Illinois.

Rev. C. D Autisdel. eight years a missionary on the C mgo, gave w most interesting and instructive account of his experiences there, illustrated by many life like stere optican views. He says the great eat foe to the negroes of that region is the liquor sent there from America and Europe. The delegates from other towns were: Rev. H. F. McDonald, wife and daughter of Gpodland. Miss Gertrude Taylor, Woloott Mrs. Hufty, of Mt. Ayr. Mrs 1 ,. Giard, and Mrs Burgett of Burnettsville. Mrs. Stuart, and Mrs. Cunningham, of Monon. Rev. J. D. Bair, of Brookston.
