Sewer Contract Awarded.

The City Council held a -special meeting Thursday night, te le» the contract for the sewer on Van Rensselaer street, from the library site to Makemself. It was let to W. F. Smith, for 35 cents pit foot for the main 8 inoh sewer: 30 per foot for the 6 inoh connections, and $2. 25 each for catch basins The entire cost will be about $240. Other bids were by W. F Osborne, at 411 cents per foot for the sewer and $2 75 each for oatob basins. John Jessen bid 40 oents for the sewer, and no bid for catch basins.
