Dan Patch’s Palace Car.
A gorgeous special car is l>eing made for Dan Patch, 1:56|, the world’s champion pacer, when he starts out on h’s campaign for breaking records this summer. The car will be much more elaborate in des ; gn and equipment than any car of its kind ever built for the comfort of a horse in this country. W. M.Jsavage, owner of the great pacer, says the champion is a very intelligent animal, and likes comfortable and pleasing surroundings, either traveling or at his private stables in Minneapolis. Dan Patch cost Savage more than SSO 000 and great care must be taken of the champion when shipped around the country. > The great Dan’s fairest daugh Iter, Happy New Year, of Rensse laer, does not yet a-pi re to ride in a special Pullman and at present is content to travel in a PullIsaac, with her proud owner in a rubber tired sulky as conductor and rear brakeman. But she is a mighty promising stepper for a 15 monther, and the may yet equal her great daddy’s performances.
