April B‘h, as per call. There was a large attendance oonsid ring the badness of the wea.har and also the pi’HOtical certainty that the convention bad an easy job before it. Ci’y Cnairmau H. J Kannal call ed the convention to order, and City Secretary C M. Bue read the coll. On resolution presented by the city committee, Messrs Kannal and Blue were continued as pre- 1 Siding < fficers, six tellers were appointed and they were in cases of voting by ballo», to challenge alii whose right to vote was doubtful' and if the person offering to vote I did not declare himself a Republi□an, his vote was to be rejected. On calls for nominations bow. ever, each of the four present incumbents of the offices of mayor, clerk, treasurer and marshal as named above, were renominated 1 by acclamation, there being no,' opposing candidate, for any office. In ju-t 15 minutes after the chairman called to order, the work was all done, and the convention was adj turned. But they could not have nominated a better ticket I if they had work-d half the night. And didn’t those six tellers have a snap though?
