Ordered: (1 ) In the adjudication of pension- claims under said act of June 27.1890, as amendec, it sbMl be taken and considered aa an evidential fact, if the contrary does not appear, and if all other legal requirements are prop>rly met, that when a claimant has passed the age of sixty-two years, he is disabled one-half in ability to perform manual labor, and is entitled to be rated at $6 per month; after sixty-five years at $8 p-r month; after sixty eight years at $lO per month, and after seventy years at sl2 per month. (2.) Allowances at higher rate, not exceeding sl2 per month, will continue to oe made as heretofore, where disabilities other than age show a condition of inability to perform manual labor (3.) This order shall take effect April 13, 1904, and sb *ll not be deemed retro Active. The former rules of the office, fixing the minimum at sixty-five and seventy-fi-’e years respectively, are hereby modified as above.
This order will be to many, 62 years of age or over, who under the old law are drawing leas than sl2, or under the new law draw less than sl2. Proper blanks on hand for applications. James A. Burnham, Pension Attorney. Rensselaer, Ind., April 6, 1901.
