Frank Giver’s Funeral.
The funeral of young Frapk Giver, held at St Augustine’s Catholic church Thursday afternoon. was one of the largest held here for a long time, especially for so young a person- Company M.J of which he was a faithful member attended in a bocy, and also the Military Band. The floral offerings were very numerous and appropriate. The pall bearers were six of his company comrades, namely, Perry Gwin, Arthur Hilling, Jamie Willis, Wm Knox, Wm Postill and Abe Stone. The religious services were conducted by Rev. Father Meyer, who preached a most impressive sermon from the text “Kemember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth.” The sermon was especially adapted to young people. On leaving the church Company M. took charge of the services, and preceded by the band led the way to the cemetery. At the grave, after a prayer by Father Meyer, a firing squad fired a salute of three volleys, and tae two buglers played “Taps” at the head of the grave.
