Todd Passons Goes Clear.
Charles G. Passons, commonly known as Todd, whose arrest on suspicion of being connected with an ugly cutting and kicking affair at Michigan City of last Friday, has been related, was released Sunday, and came home Wednesday. He tells a very straight and we doubt not truthful story of the affair. It seems that be and Billy Teeters worked together, as barkeepers, in the same saloon, and that Kagles was a sort of roustabout and general job and errand man around the same. Teeters was separated from his wife, but not divorced. He and Todd had arranged to go to Chicago together to get work in a saloon thereTeeters sent Kagles to his, Teeter’s house to tell his wife of his intention to go to Chicago, Teeters sunn after took Kagles trail and followed to his bouse, finding him still there. He beat Kagles terribly over the head and gave him a bad stab above the heart. It being supposed that Teeters suspected something wrong between bis wife and Kagles.
When Kbgles came to be said two men were concerned in the attack on him, and as stated, young Passons was arrested on suspicion. He WBB held until Sunday, and then after satisfying the chief of police that be was not present at the row be was released, but will have to go back as a witness at Teeter’s trial, next Saturday. Ragles is doing well and now considered entirely out of danger.
