The great ohioken question oame np again at the City Connoil meeting, Monday night, when a petition signed by 19 persona was presented asking for an ordinance against domestic poultry being allowed to run at large, inside th 6 corporation- Suoh an ordinance would, like the anti-profanity law, oome in mighty handy when people were looking for a •‘get even” with some one, for some grievance. And what a great ad vantage it would be to that Urge number of families inside the corporation, and yet outside the real town, who oocupy .tracts of from five to forty acres, to forbid them letting their hens run around their own barn yards? The matter was referred to the oity attorney to louk up the law. The oity treasurer’s report shows on hand in the corporation fund, s77?.off; in the electric light im provement fund S6OB 37; in the water fund $73.37. The eleotrio light fund is over-drawn $1009.82 On report of the finance committee 43 claims were allowed These inoluded $6.25 eaoh to 15 firemen.
~ The sale of nine lots in Weston cemetery was reported and approved, at prices from sls to SSO eaoh, depending on location. The ordinance was passed fi r a sewer on Van Rensselaer street from the pnblio library lots north to Makemßelf sewer. The bids will be received April 7tb.
