An Unusual Law Suit.

A law oase quite out of the ordinary has just been filed iu the Jasper oirooit court, for the April term. The plaintiff is Mrs. Martha Butler and tae defendant is the high Court of the Catholic Order of Foresters, a fraternal and bene fioial organization, organized under the laws of Illinois, hut with a branch of the order established here.

it seems by the complaint that in January 1891 John Butler, hue* band ot the plaintiff, had issued to him a certificate of membership, whioh would in the event of his y death entitle his widow, this plaintiff, to the sum of SI,OOO. Iu 1897 Butler started for the gold fields iu the Klondike, and sinoe Maroh 2nd, 1898, the plaintiff has heard nothing from him. The defendant, however, has ever sinoe oontiuued to ooiiect the monthly assessments on the certificate of membership.
