The libel suits of Rev. Dr. Edwin A. Schell, D. D. presiding elder of the Crawfordsville, Ind., I district of the Methodist Episcopal ' church, formerly of Bouth Bend, against Rev. Dr. Chas. Parkhurst, j editor, and the Wesleyan AssooiuI tion, publishers of Zion’s Herald of Boston, have been commenced Dr, Schell’s claims are for $50,000 against each of the defendants. I The suits grow out of charges made in Zioa’s Herald in 1899 that Dr. Schell derived an im--5 proper personal profit from tbe publication of a young people’s ! hymnal prepared by him and W. O. Exoell, Dr. Schell is remembered by many in this city as a prominent Methodist olergyman and Epworth League worker. He has visited Rensselaer on various occasions.
