Hanna’s Opinion of Beveridge.
Senator Beveridge is considered a young man in the Senate. On bieentranoe upon his Senatorial duties at the age of thirty-six, the older Senators did not look with favor upon this innovation- Sinoe then, however, he has won the oonfidence of tbe Senate in a remarkable degree, and has been made a member of the Republican ‘ Steering Committee” by the older Senators, who have oome to plaoe high estimate on his judgment. He is now regarded as one of tbe most conservative men in the body and one of its hardest working members. One day in the cloak-room of the Senate Mr. Beveridge’s abilitv whs mentioned in the presence of Senator Hanna. ‘'Beveridge,” replied Hanoa, ‘‘why he does f.s much work as any three men in the Benate put together.”
