While between the cars the engineer gave the train an awful bump, and Rodgers was caught between the care, and had his head crushed. The complaint states that the engineer was careless and neglectful, and further that the show car was out of repair, in thi.t its bumper plates were broken off, thus permitting the chib to come closer together when they were bumped than they could had the dar been in proper repair. Hence the complaint holds the railroad company responsible, and suit is brought for SIO,OOO damages. It is brought in the name of Mathew Rodgers, administrator of Claud Rodgers, deceased. It is stated that he was 24 years old, unmarried, a steady and industrious young man, and the principal aupport of his parents The suit was instituted in White county, and sent here on change of venue.
