Jury Couldn’t Agree
The trial of James Cain, of Whea* field Tp., charged with swearing at Charles Sihafz'ey, an elderly and well resp.-oted resident of that neighborhood, was held Tuesday afternoon, before Squire Troxell and a jury, I‘seems that lb iin works for Mike Delehanty, and that there has been some trouble about cattle; and there was a good de.d of evidence to the effect that every time Cain met Bohnhz ! ey he called him a " eld hoop pole ” But this Cain nnphniioally denied, To rebut this denial oth-ra swore they had heard Caiu boast of how he swore at Schatztey every time he met him. The jury staid out until two o’clock a. m., and then were discharged as unable to agree. They are said to stood six to six. The case will probably be tried again in a week or two.
