Has Invented A Cattle Guard.

A.G, Hendryx, of Kankakee township, was in town Thursday with the model of a new invention he has been working on ffor some time, and whioh be is now applying for a patent on. It is a oattle guard for railroads and designed to prevent cattle and other stook from walking over the guards and upon the railroads’ enclosed rignt-ef-way. The gnard is so constructed that as soon as an animal steps on any part of the gourd- towards tbe road, that part of the gnard -sinks down under the weight, and the other end rises up, presenting in front of the too intrusive -“critter” an impassible iron gate. When the animal backs off, the guard at once resumes its regular position, {fudging from the way the model works the guard will certainly fill the purpose it is designed for.
