Another Row at Rose Lawn.
There is still something doing at Rose Lawn, the lively village 16 miles north. Thus last Saturday night there was a pretty ugly affair. Mort Otis, brother of the man who married his elderly mother-in law, got in trouble with Ed Basher, over a cross cut saw, and cross-cut him pretty badly, with a knife; giving him four or five pretty bad slashes. Otis then dug out, and after the doctor had patched Basher up, he and his wife also left the town. Regarding the row at Thayer, two miles north of Rose Lawn, it may be stated that young Blood, the injured man is still slowly improving, and will get well unless some complications should ensue. It also appears that Ross’s side of the story is now coming to be generally accepted. Namely that several parties set upon him at once, and he used the neck-yoke-in self-defense. He is a man who was never before known to get into scrapes of that kind.
