The City Council.

On petition of tbe Library Board, a sewer was ordered from the lihr«ry bnilding site, oorner of Vau Rensselaer and Angelica streets, north along the west side of Van Rensselaer street to Makemself sewer. , Tne treasurer was direoted to present to the City Sohool Board a bill for $1,150 as tbe school’s 'estimated share of the oity coal bill, which included the heating of the sohool bouses, from the o>ty power plant. There is no doubt but that the oity is financially embarrassed to some extent and needs the money. But it isa'so intimated that the sohool board also is scratching its bead over the question of where this $1,150 isTo come from. A petition for an arc light at the sooth end£>f Rensselaer street was presented and filed. No action was taken at this session Ou recommendation of Fire Chief Hopkins. Charles Robinson and Bertram G ff were aooepted ae members of the fire oomptmy. Some 27 misoellaneons claims were considered and allowed.
