Bullet Through Her Hand.

Friday evening as Miss Laura Stanley, second cook at tbe Makeover bouse, was in her room putting her armament in shape to guard against surprises, like those of the Russians at Port Arthur, she was loading her artillery, towit one dinky rapid fire guD of 22 oaliber size, she started to ‘‘break” the weapon to put in some fresh cartridges, not notioing that one ohamber was already loaded. As she broke the gun she raised tbe hammer und this cartridge was exploded and the bullet passed through tbe palm of her left hand.

It started about the center of the hand add came out at the side. Dr. Berkley was oalled and gave what treatment he oouid to alleviate the pain, whioh was very great. Later he was able to make further examination, and is quite sure one of the bones in the hand is broken. She will be incapacitated for work for some time.
