An Aged Man Stricken.
Tuesday about 10:30 a m, ouff aged townsman Wm. C Piera* commonly known as Billy Pierce, went into t'n treasurer's office, in the court , to pay nie taxes. He took a »eatbyn table, waiting for bin rsr< ipts to he made up, and soon after wan observed to lean forward on hit cane, and did not reply when spoken to. He was then seen to be stricken with an attack of aims kind. After a time be ly aroused, and s'ar ted to go <»ut with assistance, but appeared to have another attack. Dr. Berkley was called and administered remedies, and be was then taken in a hack to tbe home of his soE-iu-liw, T. A Kn >x, in the southeast part of town. At la*t accounts he hadjimproved considerably and the physician Lop*s be will recover en'irely. The attack seems to have been tbe result of heart weakness. His condition for a time was very darmiug and it seemed likely that *ie would pass away without ever reviving. It does not appear that he has ev»-r before had any attacks of this character.
