Library Building Matters. Architect Weatherhogg of the public library building usually spoken of as the Carnegie library, was over from Fort Wayne a while ago, consulting with the library board and building committee. He thought he would have all the plans and specifications ready fcr Jan. 20tb, and it was the intention of the building committee to advertise Feb. 11th, as the date of letting the contract, but as the plans and specifications have not yet arrived, a later date will probably be selected. The building is to be 50 by 60 feet in size, stories, with a 20 by 28 foot vestibule, also of two stories. There is also to be a 7 foot basement The other stories of 14 and 13 feet high respectively. The material will be of pressed brick or Bedford stone, bids for both material being asked for. The roof is to be of slate. The contract for the basement will be offered separately, and bids asked on river rock, sandstone and nigger-heads. None of the fixtures and furnishings of the building are to be included in the main contract, but are to be provided for later.
