An official of the Monon said recently that W H MoDoel, president of that road, had a method of dealing with employs by which he averted any trouble as to wages He meets grievance committees of the several departments of service in an affable manner, listens to their grievances, asks for a little time to investigate, and as in the ease of the shopmen at their general shops, he meets the wishes •f employes after explaining the situation and grants the advance that he thinks the company can afford to pay. As a consequence, be gets long more smoothly with the employes in the various departments than do a majority of railroad officials.
