How to Get Pneumonia.
Dr. J. N. Hurty Gives Directions— Many Deaths In December. The December bulletin of the State Board of Health shows that pneumonia killed more people than did tuberculosis. Dr. Hurty gives directions to be used if one wishes to contract pneumonia. They are: “Stay in the house as much as possible, sleep with the windows closed, breath freely of the fetidair of street oars and railway ooHCbea. gorge on meats and other stimulating foods and heave in cocktails and high balls.” Dr. Hnrty says that pneumonia, especially rages among those who consume alcohol, who, once stricken with the disease, seldom recover.
