All Theaters Should Be Made Safe.
The Chicago tragedy has had at least one good effect: Every city of any importance is investigating its theaters and issuing orders that they are to be made safer. Sometimes it seems as if a catastrophe were necessary to impress the pro-
per degree of caution. Many small cities and towns are also looking after their theaters and other places of amusement, and they need to, also, for many f small theater or opera bouse would be as bad a for its size as the Iroquois theater was, In case of a fire or panic. The movement should be not only general, but universal, and every place, big or little that has a theater or opera house or hall used as such, should kupw that it was safe, or know the reason why.
