Public Library Matters.

Judson J. Hunt has been reelected a director to succeed himself, and Jesse E Wilson to sue ceed W. B. Austin, who is no longer a resident The board re-organked by reelecting the old officers, namely S. P. Thompson president, J. J. Hunt vice president, J. C. Harris treasurer and J. F. Major secretary Miss Stella Parkison will continue to act as librarian. The “number of books added to the library during 1903, by purchase or otherwise, was 461. The total number now in the library is 2,936. The number of book taken out during 1903, was 9,496, an increase over 1902, of 4,456. That is near ly twice as many library books were read during 1903, as during 1902. The financial report shows that the receipts during the year for the librarian’s fund were $333 03, and for the library fund, from tax ation, were $466.94. The librarian’s fund is to pay the librarian and other expenses The library fund is for the purchase of books, and can be used for no other purposa.
