Literary Entertainment at the School Hall.

There are two very interesting entertainments on the Holiday program to be rendered at the St. Augustine's School Hall; one for Cnristmaa night, Deo. 26tb, and the other for New Year’s evening. Quite a variety of* delightful declamation, songs, drills and soenes enhance the Christmas play wbioh will be given under the auspices of the Ven. School Sisters by the children at St. Angnstine’B school hall on Christmas at 7:80 p m. The children will impersonate the angels, who sang the song of joy at tbeffbirth of the Messiah, oar Savior. The entertainments will last an hoar and a half and elioit the attention and favor of .every one who is interested in home-talent, the oriterion of general education. The ohildren especially desire your presence during the entertainment which they will give on Christmas night at the School Halt.

Another entertainment, a melo--1 drama in two aota, oalled “Hiokory Farm” will be given in the school ; hail on New Years nigbt,starting«t 7:30. This play is familiar to many -of the readers of this paper, for on « previous oocaeion it was given at the school ball with great sncoess Immediately after the great rendition of 4 ‘Hiokory Farm” select members of the St. A. L. 8. a goodly number of spectators came and requested os to give the play again Owing to some adverse circa instances a repetition of the same had to be postponed until New Year. Now everything is ready for it. The amateurs, the very same who gave it one former oooaaion are well prepared and eager to entertain the ladies and gentlemen of Rensselaer and vicinity in a delgh tful manner. The entire St. A. L,S. extends its oordial invitation to all. Come in good time and enjoy yourselves innocently and instructively.
