C. & E. I. Secures Valuable Terminals.
S' v Chicago, 111., Dec. 17.—-By lease from the Western Indian, railroad, £he Chicago & Eastern Illinois has gained -valuable freight terminals jh the down-town district. The lease, which has just been recorded, is for the block of property bounded by the Western Indiana traoks, Twelfth, Taylor and Clark streets. Some time ago the Western Indiana purchased this property and issued $2 282,000 worth ©f consolidated bonds to cover the purchase price. By the terms of the lease the Eastern Illinois pays 15 a year rental and assumes the interest on the bonds, the cost* of extensions and improvements and elevations and is to pay the bonds themselves at the end of their period.
