Literary Entertainment at the School Hall.

There are two very interesting entertainments on the Holiday program to be rendered at the St. Augustine’s School Hall; one for Christmas Eve and tbe other for New Year’s evening. Qaite a variety of delightfnl declamation, songs, drills and scenes enhanoe the Christmas play which will be given under tbe auspices of tbe Ven. School Sisters by tbe children at St., Angnstine’s school hall on Christmas at 7:30 p m. Tbe children will impersonate the angels, who sang tbe aotig of joy at the birth of the Messiah, onr Savior. Tbe entertainments will last an hoar and a half and elioit tbe attention and faypr of every one who is interested in home-talent, the criterion of general education. The ohildren especially desire your presence during the entertainment wbioh they will give on Christmas eve at the School Hall.

Another entertainment, a melodrama in two acts, called “Hiokory Farm” will be given in the sohooi hall on New Years eve, starting at 7:39. This play is familiar to many of the readers of this paper, for on a previous occasion it was given at the sohooi ball-with great success Immediately after the great rendi, tion of “Hiokory Farm” select members of the St. A. L. S. a goodly number of spectators came and requested ns to give the play again Owing to some advene oironmstanoea a repetition of the same had to be postponed nntil New Year. Now everything is ready for it. The amateurs, the very same who gave it on a former occasion are well prepared and eager to entertain the ladles and gentlemen of Rensselaer and vicinity in adelghtfol manner. The entire St A. L,B. extends its cordial invitation to all.
