Honest Employment

The woman who sneers at "a decent kitchen girl ought to be made to do her own work. To cook is a highly respected business and to do good cooking requires brains, experience and good sense. Many, a good girl needs the wages to ,be earned in the kitchen, but they hesitate to go out to work because some foolish, stuck-up people point at them the finger of scorn. The girl is often a much better woman than those who rail at her. If she does her work well, continues faithfully and keeps in good humor, she is as good as a queen. She. should be treated well and helped along life’s pathway in a manner to increase her happiness. The fact that a few domestics are immoral does not argue against the case. We have wicked and immoral in all classes, vocations and professions. All will not be good; let all be as good as they can. —Ex.
