These Hunted Hunters Came Out On Top.
Attorney Frank Foltz wbb up to Thayer Taesday, defending James Oraig and Will Granger, two sporty citizens of that plaoe who according to the views of the game warden, had violated tbe game lawi. The oharge against the two parties was for hunting on tbe Adams Ranch last August without a written permit, at least this was the view taken by tbe . warden and prosecuting attorney Jobn Sink in ordering their arrest. Craig and Granger have always had an oral permission from Jobn Brady, manager of tbe ranoh, to hunt over the grounds all they Rkedl-bnt knowing the keenness of the game official in running down all violators of the law they played on the safe aide by not only proonring an oral permission bat a written one as well, from the manageis of the ranoh. Tbe werden being ignorant of the faot, ordered their arrest and the case was tried Taesday before Squire Miller of Thayer. Mr. Foltz derived considerable amnsement in'attempting to prove to tbe Sqnire that en oral permit from tbe ranch owners was all that was necessary to prove tbe innocence of the parties arrested. Mr. Sink however objeoted to this and the venerable justice shaking bis head in a knowing way said be guessed he would be compelled to sustain the objection# raised by brother Sink. Mr. Ful z then delivered tbe goods in the form of the written permit itself and the parties were promptly released.
