Fair Uaks.
J. F. Irwin, of Rensselaer, was ■*>. in town Monday on business. A number of young folks enjoyed a social dance at Jake Oonrcds last Saturday night, On account of jttfe extreme oold weather the dedication services of the Christian ohnrob were postponed last Sunday until the teoond Sunday in January, the 10th. The thermometer registered 10 degrees below zero last Sunday morning, the oddest of the season.
Abe Bringle is fitting np his rig and gotting things in shape t,o commence the rural route delivery, January Ist. Mrs. C. A. Gundy has purchased a new piano-organ of R. P. Benjamin, at Rensselaer. C. P. Fry has given np his job at the Otis ranch and gone jo Miobigan City to reside with his parents this winter.
B. C. Wasser has given up the Mouon agency here and returned to his former job as day operator at Monon. D. L. Keen, of Shelby, hrs taken his place here, and F. E. Hluted, of this plaoe, has aooepted the agency at Shelby. Art Hall has sold his pool room and barber shop to Udoms Getting ham and possession was given last Monday. F. O. Gilmore will do the tonsorial work, while the new proprietor wi ! l look aHej tbe pool table. Happy Jaoks Comio Show of moving pictures, comio slides and etereoptioau views, given at the sohool house last Friday evening was attended by a small but pleasing audieuoe. They were billed for Rose Lawn Saturday evening but ou account of tbe bad weather the di.te was cancelled. Mr. Elda Stowers and Miss Eva Vanarsdel. both of Fair Oaks, were married at Momenoe, 111. on Tuesday of last week, Deo. B.h. *.Tbe groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stowers, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chap. Vanarsdel. The wedding was private, not even their relatives know ing about it until their return home the next day. The groom is 21 and the bride 17 years old. They will reside in Fair Oaks, Tbe seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker is reported to oe quite sick and threatened with pueumonia.
Miss Kereleni Yeager, the elocuionist and impersonator, was greeted bv a fair-sized audienoe at the M. E. ohuroh last Tuesday evening. The entertainment was pleasing and up to the expectations of all from start to finish. Coming sure! The Ideal Entertainers will appear at the M. E. church on Thursday evening, Jan. 7th. Overture and introductory remarks, impersoaations and monologues, life-motion picture, riobly illustrated songs, four-in-hand Swiss Bell Riuging, and many others, Education and refinement in every feature. This oompany is highly recommended by the press and public, and will, without doubt, produce the best entertainment our people have seen in a long time. They are worthy of a full bouse.
