Superintendent Montgomery and his force are taking down the nnmeroas telephone wires that were put out of servioe by the installation of the new oables. They are thus harvesting an enormous orop of wire, qiuch of it over-ripe and of no further use. There will still be a ooneiderable number of open wires left on the poles, assail business houses and residences that are nearer the oentral than the far ends of the oables, are still oonneoted by open wires. To show what a large proportion of the wires the cables dispense with, the poles along the south side of Washington street have been carrying 180 wires. After this they will ouly have 60 wires. v The best baggies for least money at Sohleman’s.
