His Salary Raised.

The Board of Trustees of the Northern Indiana hospital for the insane at Logansport has increased the salary of Dr. Rogers, the superintendent, from $2,000 to $2,500 per year, and the Governor has approved the increase. Dr. Rogers receives in addition to his salary, of course, maintenance for himself and his family. > The adnfinistration of Dr. Rogers h*<s been notably successful. At the close of the last fiscal year, October 31, he turned back into the state treasury $1,200, which by economical management he saved from the appropriation made to conduct the institution. Dr. Rogers has been in the public * service since 1864. He took charge of the Northern Hospital when it was established, and has Served continuously since as its superintendent. He has erected buildings at a cost of $140,000, , saving the state $4,500 in architect fees, as he did his own planning and designing. Dr. Rogers has always managed to get along without the services of a landscape /gardner or mechanical engineer. During his service at the hospital he has direoted the expenditure of $3,000,000. He is a Democrat, but that don’t hurt him any—except when he somes to vote.
