The Best State Building.

Indianapolis, Nov. 27. Indiana will without doubt have the finest state building of all the stales represented at the St. Louis exposition next year.” This was the declaration made today by J. B. Whitehead, mmager of the American Press Association, who has just returned from the exposition city. While there Mr. Wuithead visited the exposition grounds as do all visitors to the city and he was oareful to examine all the buildings and to compare them with the Indiana olub house. Bis verdict is based on his investigation of the matter. "Some ot the states, notably the Eastern commonwealths, have gone to great expense in erecting their buildings” oontinned Mr. Whitehead, ‘.but notwithstanding the outlay they are making, ludi ana without one-fourth the expense will have a finer building. "Of oourse viewed merely from the standpoint of grandeur and magnifioenoe this is impsssible, but 1 mean in the general arohiteotnral beauty of the structures and the convenience of arrangement Indiana’s building'excels anything on the grounds. I was oareful to visit tbe ether state buildings to compare them with our building and 1 would not give the great Indiana paviliion for any other state building on the grounds.

"The structure seems to me to be the ideal exposition building. It is of. good size, oommodious, and it has the very air of informality and good oheer about it that should go with suoh a structure. It is olub house, a resting place the spot where tired eights seers will naturally , want' to turn to meet their friends and enjoy a quiet talk before starting out on another excursion through the grounds.
