Leopold’s Chinese House.

King Leopold Off Belgium lias just Imported a beautiful little Chinese bouse as a curiosity. After much trouble it was acquired fpr him by the Belgian Consul- at Shanghai. That house is a marvel of beauty. It Is -carved from top to bottom in splendidj wood. The rooms are large, and allfurnished In Chinese style. The hduse, which will travel in pieces to Belgium, ( Is to be set up in the park at Laeken,j where the king has his country house.) and has aireauy erected a Chinese pagoda and a Chinese tower. The iovel of Chinese things was a craze of the* Georgian period in England. We still! see traces of it In the pagoda in Kewj Gardens and in much of the early; Chippendale work. Every lady of those; times had her black boy, her Chinese* grotesque figures, and her little span* iel.
