The Ravens Will Feed Elijah.

It now looks a good deal as though Dowie the Great (humbug) could see his finish. In the language of the sinful, Elijah the Second has bitten off more than he can chew, in a financial sense, and he is now in very deep water, on account thereof. Numerous judgments have been taken against him ’in the Chicago courts, for supplies, aggregating a very large sum, and many other suits have been commenced. It is also stated that he is out something over a quarter of a million on his New York converting trip, which didnrt convert. He has also been hollering loud-and long lately for his dupes to “dig up” and pqt their money in bis bank at Zion. This as might have been expected scared more of them than it persuaded, and they began drawing out faster than they put in, for fear the bank would burst. The trouble reached a culminat ing point Tuesday, when Judge Kohlsaat, on petition of numerous creditors appointed receivers for all of Dowie’s business, except the Elijah and fake healing portions, and they have taken possession and running it in the interests of

the creditors. Of course Elijah, if he gets hard up, can call on the ravens to feed him, as they did when he was on earth before, in old testament times, but what his poor dupes will do if his whole establishment goes to smash, as now seems likely, is quite a different matter.
