Adjutant General Ward has notified the commanders in the National Guard of the State that the militia will receive no pay from the State for services at West Point. The government has already paid the soldiers for this service, but the Indiana militia had the understanding that the State would pay something additional In notifying the commanders of the State’s inability to pay the adjutant general says that the Governor profoundly regrets that there is not a sufficient appropriation to meet .this expense.
