Prevalence of Typhoid.
Ranked First ot Diseases of Indiana Health in Indiana during October last was not as good as that of the corresponding month of 1902 according to the monthly bulletin of the State Board of Health. It was better, however, as compared with September of this year. Typhoid fever is reported as the most prevalent disease, Seventyeight counties reporting the disease. Deaths were reported mfrom sixty-four counties. Smallpox was more prevalent last month than it was during October ‘of 1902, though the disease was not el so violent a type. One death in 324 cases was reported this year in thirty-eight counties, while in n October of 1902, in thirty-five oounties, 298 cases with nineteen deaths were reported The vital statistics of the month showed that there, were 2,572 "dcatfas.'B Tatwof twelve. 'The city o' death' rate was 15.4, while that of „ ther country was 10.3. Tubercui loeis claimed 256 victims, while 160 died from typhoid fever. Diphtheria caused 63 deaths; .pneumonia,l32; | cerebro spinal meningitis, 25. * There were 146 deaths from violence during the month.
