Another Big Damage Suit

THe new suits for damages continue to come fast. The latest, filed this week, is by N. F. Thomas of Wheatfieid. He sues Charles and Isabel Myers, of bis town, asking for $1,500, He claims, in his 00m plaint, that on the evening of Deo. 18th, 1902, plaintiff’s wife. Ola Thomas, went to the defend* ants store and bought a gallon of oil. The kind of oil is not specified in the complaint, but presumably it was the ordinary hand-mix-ed kerosene or ooal-oil, which old man Rookefelier stirs while other people sleep, and then retails at 15 oenta a gallon, of which 10 cents goes to Rockefeller’s private fortune and one tenth of a cent to the Chicago Uiiiveiisty and other benevolences. Anyhow, the defendauts are alleged to have made aoementstep in the side door of their store, and had a wooden brace across it to protect it from damage until it got bard. There was no light to show this braoe, and Mrs. Thomas walked out at that door and tripped on the braoe aDd fell, breaking, dislooating and fraotnring her ankle and having her arms, face and boJy badly braised. She was laid up a long time on aooonnt of the y>jory, and is deolared to be pefe manently injured. The plaintiff was put to s very large expanse for doctor’s bills, nnrsirig et i. towit, SSOO. The value of her servioes was also lost to the plaintiff, amounting t> SI,OOO. Therefore judgment is asked *n the son of *l,hoo.
