Indiana World’s Fair Notes.
Indiana Day at the exposition, September 16th. 1 ; Prize lists of premiums offered in various departments are now ready and may be obtained of the fair managers in St. Louis. A display of Indiana sandstone will be made in the exhibit of the state’s mineral products. Spencer county will supply the stone for the display . The foundations of the Indiana milding are, completed and work is now being rushed an tfte superstructure. The contract hat the building be completed by Feb. Ifitfc. ~ . . ~ Nearly all the agents named by Chairman Btevens of the Committee on Agriculture, Horticulture and Live-stock have written to headquarters that they have hlready taken up the work of collecting exhibits, and tbat farmers of their communities are showing great interest in the fair. President Gilbert, of the fair commission, has received inquiries from several of the larger cities of the state in regard to what steps they must take to make individual exhibits at the exposition. The inquiries, Mr. Gilbert thinks, indicates that a number of the cities will be represented with individual city exhibits. County agents from several counties have reported that the county councils in their respective local ties are considering the advisabil ty of making appropriations to be used in collecting. an agricultural display to be made as part of the state exhibit Btarke county has set tbe example by making an appropriation of S6OO for the purpose.
