V * ■ O’Conner Has a Big Contract in Sight f! , t , ; >; * , 'Ci John O'Conner, of Kniman wjio ,is the agent for- the Anchor Fencing Company of South Bend, is about to secure a big contract for for his fencing from the C. & E, I. railroad.— John was in Chicago, Thursday* where he met several directors and engineers of the road who thought very favorably of bis fence and who gave him assurance that he would most likely reoeive the contract. If John lands the work it will mean a great deal to him as the Frisco system, owners of the C. & E. I. railroad, are constructing a new short route between Chicago and St, Louis, which will require a double fence whole length of tlie, road. It will also mean that he will supply the road with new fencing along their entire system, as fast as it is re quired. John has been instructed by the Company to. supply them with 1000 rods of fencing at once and if it proves satisfactory there is no further doubt of his landing the contract.
