It has been raining here since Sunday, but it quit last Dight and turned cold along in the night, several of the soldiers could got keep warm so they got up and built a fire in the middle of company’s street and sat around it the rest of the night. Wednesday night the soldiers got after a man in Howard who was running a skin game and tore up his joint and threw it out in the street, then they started in and run out all of the stands alhd the inhabitants of the town. Several of us were out hunting persiqnmons yesterday up .in the high hills. We found quite a number and also found some chickens which we brought to cathp and had them oooked. Comrade Fox had a close oall the other day in a battle, bulletts were flying so thick around him that his watoh charm was 6hot off. He is laid up now, some officer ran iuto him yesterday on a horse and bruised him some. We bave our last battle today whioh is going to be a big one. We break camp Saturday morning and get home some time Sunday. We will have a big review tomorrow, Friday. Three soldiers of our regiment were caught asleep while on guard last night by the Officer of Day and today they are in the guard house, they will probably be oourt martialed.
