A Tablet For Milroy Park.
The 9ih Indiana Regiment held their I7th annual reunion at Elkhart, ending last Saturday, About 90 survivors attended. Company G. which was the Jasper county company, and raised by Gen. Milroy, was represented by Lieutenants, J. M, Helmick, of Wheatfield and Benj R. Faris, of Gillam. The first named is recording secretary. of the regimental organization, and the latter one of the vicepresidents. A matter of special interest here was the appointment of a committee composed of Capt. McConnell and Lieuts. Helmick and Faris, to recommend plans for a bronze tablet to be erected here in Milroy Park. The 1904 reunion will be held at Logansport the first Friday and Saturday in October. * There are but few survivors of the 9th left in Jlsper county. Of Company G. only the two above mentioned and Lieut. W. H. Rhoades and E. L. Clark and Kane Galbreath, of Rensselaer, Robert Stephenson, of Parr, John G. Faris and R. Freshour, of Gillam, and Robert Hall of Kankakee tp., and Thos. Robinson, also of Rensselaer, of Company G. being all now left in the county.
