A Sait for Slander.
A Rensselaer Girl Sues A Union Township Couple For $2,000. ■tct' Miss Lena Ritter, a young woman living in Rensselaer, in oapaoity of a hired girl, has sued Bertha Schultz and her husband Chriet Sohultz, well known and elderly .residents of Union Tp., for $2,000, for alleged slander. Miss Ritter, being under 21 years of age, brings the suit by Edward Ritter, her “next friend.” The oomplaint alleges that the plaintiff is an honest and ohaste young woman and previous to the slander complained of, always bad a good reputation. On or abou June Ist, aooording to the complaint, Mrs. Sohultz, in the hearing of divers persons, made assertions gravely impugning the chasity of the plaintiff, the words used being quoted in the complaint^ The complaint further alleges that the plaintiff had for two years been keeping oompany with one Julius Sohul'z, and expected to marry him, bat after these slanderous remarks were circulated he ceased his attentions Damages to the amount of $2,000 are demanded.
